That's right, I forgot about that. He just always struck me as a barbarian for some reason, though I guess the animal companion is more a Ranger thing.

If I remember correctly, he actually got barbarian levels after something traumatic happened to him right after BG2.

In BG 1 and 2, he actually has a rage ability similar to barbarians. I usually respec him as a barb in those games.
