my charitable interpretation is that basically all characters in anime, especially protagonist women, have high school musical syndrome.

Like go look at jotaro kujo from JJBA, in part 3 he is 17 years old and he looks at least 25.

Most anime ages are frankly just arbitrary numbers for the sake of lore, it's like worrying about people being attracted to the actors in nickelodeon's shows when 7 times out of ten they're just full on mature adults

I always say that if the cliche of the police vampire actually being 500 years old doesn't make being into a police character okay, then the reverse is true too, if the character is drawn like and acts like an adult, it's fine to be attracted to them.
