It might be a good thing if upvotes/downvotes were public... e.g. hover over arrow to view.

Might also prompt people to add a comment around why they agree or disagree if their id was associated with an action.

Reddit found that this makes it easy for bots to spam votes -- you can't shadowban them as effectively.

Reddit also has some method for metering votes you make directly from a user's profile. You have to click on the post/comment to actually vote on it.
