I hadn't thought of that. What does the secret military fuel supply chain looks like, and could they put that to use, when the capitalist supply chain fails.

This is what is happening, in the form of army tankers being prepped to deliver petrol. There is no threat of use of force. That said, crap working conditions for truck drivers in the UK have led to this point. They were plugging the hole with lower income EU citizens, but Brexit closed that source of labor. The UK may have to actually treat its truckers decently for a change to entice people back into the trade.

The UK has a still partially classified pipeline for fuel, which was built in secret during WWII for the air force. That particular network is now for both military and civilian use, but I imagine the military still has a separate network that is even more classified.

cool.

they presumably also have a supply chain for petrol and for diesel. secret shipments, refineries, deliveries, storage tanks. they will all be kept full and chugging while the public bear the draught.

Hell, you don't even need to go as far as the military for that. The upper class is doing just fine, better than ever in fact, it's the proletariat that is suffering, as always.

Its a completely different thing to bring in things for rich people (who can pay anything), or bringing in thousands of tons of gasoline. The latter needs a lot more workers, but wages are so low that no one wants to do it, except for eastern europeans (who were thrown out).
