/r/worldnews has the function to let users hide certain popular topics.

Well, this is why we confine certain topics (so far we have couple, but not necessary will always be) in megathreads because there is no other option to filter by flair/topic like reddit.

Ahh. That would be a cool feature to add.

/r/worldnews let's you choose topics you don't want to see in the feed, I think it's a combination of css calling Javascript.

Sounds like an idea, but maybe in a few months once things are more solid, but some kind of hashtag filter might work.
