As per title, what app are you currently using? Why do you think it's the best one? I've seen a lot of app being developed (just to mention a few: Mlem, Memmy and Thunder) and I can't decide what to use

Just want to add my two cents here - https://wefwef.app is absolutely fantastic on both Android and iPhone and it's a PWA. It's better than any other client I have used (I have used most if not all available rn)

[โ€“] airportline@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Wow, this looks just like Apollo!

[โ€“] freebread@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

Interesting. I'm still waiting for Sync for Lemmy since I'm used to that on mobile, but I always used Apollo on my iPad. (Well, I used it since Reddit acquired Alien Blue..)

Just added it to my homepage. Iโ€™m surprised how good it is.

Iโ€™ll have to try it a bit more, but it might become my default until Mlem is more fully developed.

Glad to see this mentioned here. Wefwef is fantastic and not enough people know about it. It's the client that made me really dive into lemmy.

[โ€“] ducking_donuts@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

I just added it to the home screen, and so far, it's my favorite between Mlem and using the default web interface. Thanks for mentioning it!

Overall it's pretty good, but it doesn't support the android back button which is really annoying. If you hit back it just closes the app.

[โ€“] aeharding@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

The latest deploy respects android's back button! Might have to force close the app/site a couple times to see the newest version. Sorry about that. Haven't tested Android until today ๐Ÿ˜…

[โ€“] eatham@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Not really good on Android, the ui doesn't match.

[โ€“] aeharding@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Author here, check back soon! I'm prioritizing core functionality and bugfixes for the next few days/week, but wefwef uses Ionic so once things settle down a bit it's not that hard to get Android styles supported.

Hey, thanks for the app! Wefwef is unreal, it feels like a native app because everything is so smooth. It's my favorite one, and I never thought I would like a PWA over a native one.

[โ€“] Railison@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Enjoying it so far! Current wish list is:

  • Creating posts
  • Following users
  • System notifications
[โ€“] aeharding@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Creating posts is the next priority! Also, following users? You can do that?!

System notification will be harder, because it depends on Lemmy adding support for the Web Push API. There'll be foreground notifications - but background ones is the part that depends on Lemmy.

[โ€“] Railison@aussie.zone 3 points 1 year ago

Haha thanks I need to RTFM. Thanks so much for your work on this!!

Hi I would love to be able to edit my comments from the same drag menu which has the reply functionality if possible!

[โ€“] Railison@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago

And editing posts ๐Ÿ˜‰

[โ€“] nameisnotimportant@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Am I blind or there is no dark theme or customization available?

[โ€“] impiri@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

It respects my system dark mode setting on iOS/iPadOS 17, fwiw

[โ€“] broadbean@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

Thanks for this, Iโ€™ve tested a few already and this one seems pretty promising!

[โ€“] nostalgicgamerz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Post loading when add to Home Screen gets a black screen

[โ€“] drifty@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This doesn't happen for me, maybe try making it again?

[โ€“] nostalgicgamerz@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Same thing sadly

Even turned off Hyperweb and content blocking

[โ€“] aeharding@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hey, wefwef author here, sorry about that issue. I haven't seen that. If you can provide a reproduction I'd be more than happy to look into it. https://github.com/aeharding/wefwef

[โ€“] nostalgicgamerz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I added it again and did the same thing. How can I provide my info?

[โ€“] aeharding@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oh, just device info. I assume Android? What version? And then what name and version of the browser you're using?

Should be able to find that in settings.

[โ€“] nostalgicgamerz@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oh no my bad Iโ€™m on IOS 15 iPhone 15.1.1

[โ€“] aeharding@lemmy.world -1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ok, re-add it to your Home Screen and it should be working. ๐Ÿ˜

Hey thank you! I wasnโ€™t able to comment with it (using Memmy for this) but it loads comments now ๐Ÿ˜„
