Wow is this guy missing the point. Most of us who have PTSD are very happy that people have the right to do their foreworks

I have the right to drive up to your house, park on the side of the street, and blast "Baby Got Back" on a loop at 250 dB until the wee hours of the morning, but I don't do that. Because I'm not an asshole. And I'm already over-budget this year for public performance rights to songs about the buttocks. But mostly the former.

Someone else said it in another comment: Be a good neighbor - that's all we're asking.

You absolutely don't have that right in any location where noise ordnance is on the books, which is most places.

[–] WhipTheLlama@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

You don't have the right to do that because almost everywhere has some kind of noise bylaw. Also, 194 dB is the maximum possible sound energy through air.

[–] neanderthal@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Lots of localities have laws about noise. In this case it is irrelevant because it would probably fall under harassment laws in most places.

I feel like fireworks aren't covered by the 2nd amendment. I have spoken to plenty of veterans who were miserable when fireworks go off. They didn't go through hell to relive it. You act tough but it's not healthy.

lol you got me Im a special SGT in the Mcgyver branch of the 32nd infantry Battalions special forces division

In all honesty im not here to have to prove myself to a random internet stranger. I have a DD214 to prove my time active duty and one from my deployment with the reserves. your right I guess speaking for most. I know lots of guys who like people enjoying their freedoms within the law. illegal fireworks are definetly a problem and I have no idea where you are in the country or your laws around here and most of the 6 states ive lived in it usualy dies down around 10pm and Ive always made sure to go somewhere and do something that keeps me busy. just because I have a problem doesnt mean the whole world has to stop enjoyin themselves

Its honestly kind of disgusting that you are accusing a victim of PTSD of lying, invalidating their mental suffering and what they've been through simply because they hold a different perspective on something from you. You should be ashamed of yourself.

That's a huge assumption not based in any sort of reality.

And, based on your replies in this post, I have no idea what Liz Lemon sees in you.
