It does seem incredible, but why do you personally doubt?

The Ukrainians are far, far more motivated, have Western aid and have been training for this since 2014 or so.

They have more modern everything, from tactics to rifles to drones. And unlike Russia, they're not stuck with dogmatic battlefield strategy commanded from the top down. They took note from the Americans; Let the commanders in the field adjust to fluid situations.
