I think phones have generally taken over MP3 players because you can do everything an MP3 player does on your phone.

But I recently bought one because I just like a single device having that unique purpose of playing music.

I still have and use a Sandisk Sansa with Flac files ('cause mp3 sucks).
I had 2 Zunes but they couldn't be reloaded with new music and the batteries finally crashed.

I always found flacs to be too big for next to no discernable improvement in quality-- and half the mp3 players I owned just couldn't play them, treated them just like wma. mp3@320 is just fine for me.

If that works for you, great. But some of us can actually hear flac vs mp3. And the type of music, player, equalizer and headphones will make a difference. I have a tablet that does not sound all that great. But a different tablet with some 24 Bit Flac songs I own, sounds amazing.

Same here. Sansa in the drawer, only brought it as used to be able to hack a ps3 with it before full custom firmware was a thing.

Zune still works but no windows 10 drivers so stuck with old music ๐Ÿ˜•

I had a Sansa and randomly also obtained a Sansa docking alarm clock from a woot BoC.

Still have the clock and use it to wake up everyday. Lost the mp3 player long ago :/
