Must have been French or something. Their roosters go cocorico over there.

Yep, our rooselters go "cocorico", it's called a "chant". This is a good onomatopoeia as roosters sounds a bit like that.
Our frogs "coasse". As an onomatopoeia, we sometimes say something like "wobett", which sounds like someone who never heard a frog would say they sound, mainly used with or by kids.
Nothing like a bark.
