Huh? The term Metaverse long predates Fediverse. If anything it is the opposite way around, although Fediverse is more of a combination of Federation and Universe... so I guess a case of convergent linguistic evolution ;)

Yes, I bought the book when I heard about the relationship. The sci-fi Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. Didn't got to read it yet, though.
