Boomers have painted themselves into a corner by embracing cars and rejecting public transit as something only for us poor people. They'd rather push themselves beyond their limits and put younger generations on the road at risk than advocate for public transit.
I understand why there's a lower age limit for who can drive. I do not understand why there's no upper age limit for drivers. It's well-known that cognitive decline typically starts in the 70s, meanwhile my local media is more concerned with glorifying 80, even 90 year olds who still drive and praising them for their "independence".
