I truly enjoy a good debate "in good faith" where both parties lay out their positions and defend themselves and challenge my views. There's very little of that here. Just pure unbridled rage and astonishing ignorance.

A lot is just assuming your opponent's views. Strawmanning all day. And I do it, too. I like to try to roll it back at some point.

I’ve had 2-3 experiences like that on Lemmy and kbin, but far more on reddit. On Lemmy it tends to be “intelligent but deranged person who hates you” while reddit tends to be “insane or unintelligent person who hates you”.
