What exactly makes it bedbug proof? I’ve avoided them and I’d like it to stay that way.

It's a heavy duty zippered bed encasement. Idk seems to work. Also get those interception things for the legs of your bed. A simple investment that can save you a lot of headaches, NOBODY is immune to them.

The mattress case, because it fully encapsulates your mattress, reduces the areas where bed bugs can hide.

I’m sold, even if it means one more thing to wash. 😣 Does it make the mattress any warmer in the summer time?

[–] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Not really. And it keeps the sheets staying on better too.

[–] TheGoldenGod@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This is actually a plus, I hate when the sheets come up in a corner.

[–] TheGoldenGod@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I bought one, and looking up the leg interception things now. How often do you need to wash the mattress cover?

[–] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I usually wash once every couple of months.

[–] TheGoldenGod@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That’s actually not bad, I wash my mattress pad that often, so it can be worked in.

Years from now when you never get bedbugs you'll wonder why you listened to the crazy lady on the fediverse but I promise you it's better than finding out the hard way.
