This doesn't make any sense, you guys have to vote for gender AND for orientation. The percentage of cis to non cis doesn't make any sense when it's mixed into the orientation block of straight, queer etc. Should have been 2 polls
I don't get it
Can you be gay and cis? Yes. But your chart will show my vote for both as two people and Split me in half. The chart mashes together two different topics: gender identity and sexual orientation. Some people will only vote for one of the two, some will vote for both, since we all fall into a category in both of them. The chart shows every vote, without differentiation between the two and between what a single person has voted.
You can put 2 questions in one poll: both required but with "prefer not to answer" as an option:
Any objections? Is this confusing/non-inclusive?
Edit: as with any poll involving these topics, you never know if you've missed any options (even if "etc." is available) so it’s best to get a sample of the LGBT+ community & general population and ask them if they have objections.
yeah but strawpoll doesn't allow for two different polls on the same link
does it allow for two different questions on the same poll? :0
Yes. Demo
No. That is a different website than strawpoll.com.
no
OK, thanks
Guess what, I just went to https://strawpoll.vote/create and there is a prominent [ Add another question ] button.
okay now try the mobile version, I was looking for it for 30 minutes and all the other buttons did was add more choices
This is great but I wanna say genderfluids and non-binaries can be trans too! And when you separate the categories, you mean to say trans and trans non-binary. I personally keep them together.
Gonna be honest, didn’t realize “straight” wasn’t a subset of “cis” and needed to also be specified.
Cis simply means you identify with your gender assigned at birth; it doesn't really impact your sexuality. For example, you could be a cis gay man, which is not straight.
The percentages are out of total votes, not total respondents, you have to calculate the fractions yourself
Yeah, but not everyone voted for both. And closered is not defined as gender or orientation
