My personal opinion is that Abrahamic religions have brought nothing but opportunistic immorality into humanity. The massive majority of followers are good people that have done a lot of good under their respective religion. But in the end, we've never needed young religions like these to be humane. A side-effect is the immoral using religion to get away with immorality because, quite often, the Abrahamic god has been written to support it.

Other older religions have their own downfalls, but from what we can tell, they weren't invented by a small collective of individuals or micro-society trying to get an advantage on others.

I'd also like to point out I was a Christian for two decades and studied it a lot with plans of being a pastor. Eventually the study opens your eyes and you can't be a part of it anymore.
