Holy shit. How did you get to know about Lemmy and why did you join?

[โ€“] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 1 year ago

Not OP but reddit and the piracy subreddit

[โ€“] riccardo@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

At the time I knew what the fediverse was and I was using Mastodon quite consistently, and I was waiting for a federated alternative to reddit. Raddle at the time was already a thing, but federation was not on their roadmap.

As per how I found it... here's a comment from four years ago :)

Why it say 4y ago but account created 2023?

[โ€“] Nemo@midwest.social 27 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Instance admins can change literally any of that information in the database. There's a user whose account info says she's been on lemmy for a century.

[โ€“] FredericChopin_@feddit.uk 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

You might be correct, although I would have expected the 4y ago part to not be a column in the database.

It would more likely have a CreatedAt column of type DateTime. Then using something like moment in the client you can format to show the date and time since, which makes it strange here that we seemingly have CreatedAt and TimeSinceCreation columns which is odd no?

[โ€“] christophski@feddit.uk 3 points 1 year ago

There's nothing to stop them changing the creation date though

Just a couple months - around July 2023. No point in being on Reddit anymore since I got a sitewide ban for not being an Andrew tate fan.

Rapist psycho misogynists deserve to have a horrible penetrative thing happen to them in prison. Iโ€™m not sorry.

Fuck Andrew Tate but an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind fam.

Id say this is more likely than admin manipulation.
