So... your suggestion is turning lemmy into an authoritarian regime that censors whatever you or someone might consider "enraging". lemmy.world did that with piracy instances... lol. You're proposing openly banning options/speech that doesn't conform to your view of the world? Like China, Russia, NK and others do? What's the point of an alternative to reddit if you turn it into a system that has the same restrictions and centralized control?
Look I'm not saying I agree with the "political" views of that people you mentioned, what I'm saying is that you can't just censor stuff because it "enrages" you. That would be... turning lemmy into a "safe space" ahaha π π π π
Dude. You figuratively just walked into a public library and shouted "HAVE YOU GUYS TRIED MOVIES? THEY ARE WAY BETTER THAN BOOKS!!!"
And then to top it off, when you got shushed, you followed up with "HELP HELP! I'M BEING OPPRESSED!"
It doesn't matter how many people agree that movies are great, it's not the time or the place for that.
I mean, not to rain on your metaphor but they've had movies at my library for like thirty years. They just got a board and video game collection too. I recommend checking out your local libraries again if you haven't done it in a while.
All he said was that it doesn't fit here.
Who's he to decide what fits and what doesn't fit? What if someone else decides his posts doesn't fit here? Who's right then?
The person/people who run the community.
So... back to the authoritarian regime style of dealing with issues.
Fellas, is moderating a community authoritarianism?
Everything is if you stretch hard enough

I'm not saying "this place has no place on lemmy", I'm saying this is not the sub for that.
It's called reviewing content to stay on topic.
Do you need a shark to go with all that jumping mate ?
I kind of hoped that my reply made it obvious...
Gotta admit, your reply fits the sub perfectly
Did someone make a screenshot to post it in this sub yet?
god forbid lemmy not be a place that makes people feel like shit, that simply wouldn't do.
Everyone must be as miserable as me at all times
What never ceases to amaze me is how the same arguments that the "antivaxxers, anti-worker propaganda, climate change and fucking antisemitism" use can be applied to all sides and opinions on those subjects ahah
