That's what we all said last time with Naomi Wu. I totally dislike Naomi Wu (I have for much longer than I have known of her interaction with Linus), I (still) think she'd do anything for clout, so I sided with Linus on that one.
Madison, on the other hand, doesn't strike me as someone who would do anything for clout. It doesn't mean she isn't another toxic person trying to profit off of the situation, but until we know better, it's safer to err on the side of caution, as she can also very possibly be saying the truth.
Either way, I'm not gonna start hating Linus with a passion, but I sure will disengage from anything LTT (except this Lemmy community, since I'm kind of in charge of it) until everything calms down. I'll check the new video from the CEO, but... yeah, LTT's kinda dead for me, either way. That water block situation really disgusted me, if nothing else.
Her verbiage indicates she is self immolating with her disclosures. She would need to be playing a super long con, to be doing this maliciously, imo.
Agreed. However, I absolutely don't know anyone involved, and I won't just decide to go cancel some random people for "allegations". Let more people speak. Let facts surface. Then we can see, but honestly, I'd rather have a court of law decide at that point: this is pretty serious.
Eh... your arguement sound disingenuous here. It is absolutely possible to delineate the court of public opinion from the official court.
They both bear ramifications. They are also both capable of apt judgements, despite their flaws.
Edit. The push back in defense of LMG seems to he 'not enough evidence '. I will argue, again, that the whole point is that evidence comes after discovery.
If i were an employer in LMG's position, i would be propping up the former employee while also evidencing my lack of guilt. Linus is doing neither.

You don't know her? Check her content. She's half naked all the time, it's like watching the intro to a porn movie. Remove that, and her entire content flops. Not that it's absolutely terrible, but it also doesn't particularly stand out. Plenty other people do better, but they don't wear a belt as a skirt, and a top that starts at the upper chest...

like i'll admit to being flippant with my reply, but like yr prescribing malice to something that should be value neutral, like even if she is using sex to add to the appeal of her channel (which i think would be a fair assessment) that isn't like, evil.
It is evil, considering our society. The context of our society makes this evil. Using scent marketing for your bakery when everyone has enough to eat is perfectly okay. Using scent marketing for your bakery during an economic crisis when only a minority of the population has enough to eat is absolutely evil.

It's almost like content creators jump ship to protect themselves in a selfish way.

The video where he posted what others accused him of, and then straight up posted the full context of the conversations, with time stamps, proving they were making shit up. Those "receipts".
I'm not familiar with this situation. Is Lex affiliated with Gus Johnson? That's who I'm wondering about.
This is the internet, people need something to be mad about. I'm not saying LMG is in the right and totally fine, but as soon as it comes out someone like them might be bad, people just hop on. I'm waiting for their side of things to come out before really making any judgement. Things don't look good, but come on, they need a chance to be heard. It's just common sense.
