If you don't want to be crying again in 2028, start working now.

The center/center-right was in charge and calling the shots. They were driving the ship and demanding conformance from the left. The left largely did conform. The strategic choices however were not made by them, they were made by the center/center-right. They should own their mistakes.

Let the centre unify with the left for once. It seems to be the one winning.

this election was lost by single issue voters not showing up

You mean, the candidate didn't do her fucking job pandering to the electorate? You mean the democratic machine didn't take their own rhetoric about democracy being threatened seriously enough to make sure to pander to every corner of the electorate to build the broadest possible coalition? You mean that the shitty electioneering consultants fucked up so much that they created a void for Donald Fucking Trump to show up to Michigan and get imams to endorse him as the "peace candidate"?

If you want to blame voters for electing Trump, blame the fucking white trumpist majority. Not the minorities that the Democrats didn't deign to try to woo and win their vote.

I'm tired of the "fooled innocent Americans" trope. Fuck that. They knew exactly what they did. Face the reality: half of Americans are now trumpists. FACE IT.

Bresheeth was released without charge on 2 November, after spending a night in custody, but remains under investigation.

What the fuck does that mean? I didn't know the UK laws were so authoritarian. So what, we arrest you for making a speech, detain you for a night, and then let you go without charge? And no repercussions for the inconvenience?

And how does "remains under investigation" not constitute intimidation?

Yes, and changing the culture of a country is a political program.

Here is the difference: babies are not born into a political program, they are born into a culture. You don't grow up into a political program, you grow up into a culture.

Political programs are typically rooted in some culture and sometimes, a political program can become a culture, but a culture is not in itself intimately linked with a political program. In the same culture you can have multiple competing political programs in fact.

Yeah, all of that, that was the party program of the NSDAP, a political party.

A small amount of inflation is good actually.

You're conflating a political ideology with a culture.

Chalcedonian Christianity is also Nicene, i.e., Trinitarian: one being in three cosubstantial persons. They share the divine cock and balls, one would say.

[–] theacharnian@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Nah, in its internal logic, Chalcedonean Christianity doesn't have this problem. Jesus is defined as fully human and fully divine, and peeing is just part of being human.

Let's say for example that I want to share this post https://mas.to/@NunavutBirder/110584158893944201 to !canada@lemmy.ca .

I can of course just create a post with the URL from my lemmy account. But is there a more ...fediverse-ish way of doing it?

I know for example, that in Mastodon, I can make a post and mention @canada@lemmy.ca and that will create a post in !canada@lemmy.ca.

But I guess what I'm saying is that I want to somehow "boost" an existing mastodon post to lemmy. Does that make sense? Is it possible?

I'm sure it will garner the kind of media frenzy that submarine with those 5 dudes did.

Canada is among many NATO allies of Ukraine who signed 2010 pact to ban cluster munition use

Thanks again NIMBYs.
