Your analogy is get accurate. It's more like: commercial fisherman murders hundreds of innocent fish. Those fish usually go toward feeding whales. Why do the fishermen hate whales?

The real crime here is too many people, these cops included, use "just following orders" as justification to hand-wave away the side effects as not their problem. The intent is important here, and the headline for this article misconstrues the intent and cause of the resulting suffering. For that matter, it doesn't even go into detail about the actual suffering, just a hypothetical one.

What am I saying? This isn't even an article. Why are we treating a post on X as any source of information?

Maybe a 10 if they also regularly do all that at sex parties and masturbate in the bathroom at work

My point is the cops were not on a crusade against baby formula purchasers like the headline implies.

So they were just denying everyone entry to the grocery store and this really has nothing to do with baby formula?

They hit 21 people with 2 bullets? That's efficient.

Well I guess we can't go to universities in the eastern half of the US. And not in the middle either (tornadoes), and not in the west either (wildfires). Should we all move to Wyoming? This Lemming seems to know what's best for us 340 million Americans. Surely we can all fit in Wyoming. It'll be a glorious utopia!

Last I checked, the food insurance was ridiculously expensive if you actually wanted to cover the full rebuild cost of your home. It wasn't financially wise to get the insurance.

On top of that, when so many people get flooded in an event like this, everyone who does restoration work is able to raise their prices due to supply/demand. There's no winning.

RSV sucks. I'll probably get the vaccine next year. I missed the news that there was a vaccine. With a young child in school, the chance we'll all be getting RSV again is very high.

This is a good thing

On other apps, when an image or video is posted I can long press on it to copy a direct link to it. The best I could find in Voyager is to copy a link to the lemmy post or open the post in a browser. This makes it hard for me to share memes with friends who don't use Lemmy. But maybe this feature already exists and I don't know where to find it. I just started using Voyager yesterday.
