You mean shitposting on reddit or not caring about their agenda?

[–] shaggyb@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Well, you are certainly entitled to that opinion even though it's wrong, and I do think banning you for it is also wrong.

There's a big difference between having ideas and taking actions. Ideas cannot be allowed to become illegal. Even disgusting ones.

The correct response to unconscionable ideas is social, not institutional.

I got banned from r/politics in 2019 by replying to

We should treat Trump exactly how he treats immigrants.

with

What do you mean, shoot him?

Appeal wasn't ignored. Instead, it was mocked.

So yeah I'm going to get banned. But not before I poison their AI data pool as much as I can.

Don't fuck with people's cars.

Do whatever you want to Elon or to Tesla buildings or unsold inventory or superchargers, but don't fuck with cars in public lots. People own those cars and haul their families in them. People have multi-year loans on them. Cars aren't disposable at the drop of a new twist in public opinion. Even if they were, most people don't choose their cars based on political tribalism.

Seriously. This a very, very bad idea.

I hope you find your way to a civilized country.

Nah. You want a fight, you can look somewhere else. I've got better things to do. I said what I wanted to say.

Absolutely fucking not.

Because you are not the main character of the universe.

You will leave behind consequences for your actions. The consequences of the actions of others gave you the world you have lived in, as will the consequences of your shape the world of the future.

There is nothing after death and we all know that, so all there's left to plan for after you die is the legacy of what you did while you were here.

Speaking for me, I value the idea that the consequences of my life wind up being more positive than negative for future generations. I also value feeling like I've changed things for the better now, and so when I have a platform or any influence I aim for that.

If you don't care about any of that, please seek counseling. The rest of us will be better off with fewer narcissists.

See, this is a reasonable use of horrible dystopian technology.

It doesn't excuse the rest of it, though.
