I have an iPad Air 4th gen with an Apple Pencil and I really like it for taking notes. I’ve seen some people use the mini but for me I would say the screen is too small. If you can go to an Apple Store / Best Buy (or similar) to try it out you may want to do that? Whatever you end up buying, make sure you get it on the Apple Student store!
