If you don’t like atheist memes, why are you taking time out of your day to stop and comment in a Lemmy instance literally called “atheistmemes”? Slow day at work? Here's a tip: There's probably plenty of Lemmy communities you have no interest in, and some you may even actively dislike, so when you come across a post like that in your feed, you can totally just keep scrolling! Try it out sometime, it isn't hard at all! Better yet, you can simply not subscribe to it, and only show communities you're subscribed to in your feed! Cheers!

It does appear to be working fine after a reinstall, thanks!

Absolutely loving this app so far, but for the past few days, any kind of interaction in the interface takes 10-20 seconds to register - viewing posts/comments/profile, upvoting, commenting, etc. At first, I thought maybe the Lemmy instances are having issues with increased traffice, but I downloaded and tried the 'Liftoff!' app (which is also great, but not quite as polished/feature rich as Memmy) and it appears to be working fine. Anyone else? Should I try reinstalling?

EDIT: Appears to be working fine after reinstalling!

Meh, I eventually switched from Roku (which has ads on the home screen) to Fire TV because SmartTubeNext isn't available on Roku, plus the 4k version of the Fire TV was on sale dirt cheap. The Fire TV also has ads on the home screen, but I'm only ever on the home screen for however long it takes (1 or 2 seconds) to open one of my streaming apps, none of which have ads.

You can make any smart TV dumb. Just disable the network on it and use your own streaming device (Roku, Chromecast, Fire TV, etc.).

If they would let me just specifically pay for ad-free YouTube at a reasonable price, instead of lumping it in with a bunch of shit I don't use and am not interested in, I would happily pay.

Thanks for the info!

It works with any federated Lemmy server, of which I think there's over a thousand, now.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is Kbin just another Lemmy instance or a whole separate thing entirely?

Thanks for the guide!

And the Reddit blackout hasn't even started yet. Gonna be interesting to see what this place looks like a week from now. I'm excited!

Actually, the web UI works/renders surprisingly well in mobile Safari on iOS, so I'll be sticking with that for now.
