I would definitely be for an option like this. You summed up my scrolling behavior in a nice lil nutshell. I'll scroll and scroll and scroll, not even knowing what i'm expecting to see, until it's 3 in the morning or later. It's not good for me and I would like an option to help me get that under control.

Arguably not free, seeing as they're making a ton of money by selling our data.

What you are missing is that by calling you, personally, sexist, people aren't advocating for political change. They're asking you to not be a dick and not discriminate/generalize based on gender/sex, which is what these memes generally do while also mocking female-identifying persons as being boring and vapid while male-identifying people are quirky and fun.

(usually these memes tell on themselves by stemming from a place of not knowing enough women on a personal level, but I digress)

What about the fairphones? I was reading up on them and might get one. I like that they come with an android fork and open-source apps so you don't have to deal with Google. Plus being fully repairable and sustainably-made. Does anyone have any experience with them?

Not everyone lives in the same area. In mine, several places close at even 8 pm. Yeah, I'd consider that early.

Believe me, it doesn't

I think it's just cheaper to not stay open. They'd have to pay employees to work those hours and I think during covid they found they saved money by closing earlier vs the sales made during that time. Who cares that that makes it harder for people who work night shifts. The classic corporate "fuck 'em, that's why"

I just realized that if kids told their parents that where I live right now, there is almost no way you'd find a store open late enough to fix your problem... Ever since covid, things have been closing so early

I feel like I had badger for a while but it seemed to break so many things I was trying to access... Sites seem to really not like you having it installed. Was I just not using it right, or has it gotten better?

They did say it wouldn't apply to NSFW content; not trying to contradict what you're saying at all, just adding clarity! To me this seems like a further slap in the face to the NSFW posters who drive a lot of traffic, just like it is to mods. Having to moderate more low-quality content for free sounds like an absolute chore.

Reddit's choice to throw NSFW communities under the bus in favor of ad revenue is certainly a choice when a ton of NSFW content almost built that site. It used to be on the front page with everything else for goodness sake.

Whether corporations like it or not, availability of NSFW content can make or break a site like reddit/Tumblr. People are gonna go where the porn is.

Our instance is only defederated from one other instance and it's lemmygrad. My question is why? It doesn't seem like a hate group or anything as far as I can tell. Can someone fill me in?

I hope I posted this to the right place; still getting used to how lemmy works. If I should post elsewhere, let me know.
