Peertube.tv does not allow new user registration.

I have been looking for instances of peertube, but some of them do not have registration enabled or only support a specific type of videos (For example, technology), I want an instance where you can register and that is not limited by a specific theme for the videos.

They are email addresses that I have to memorize, they are not temporary.

There is the diceware method to make passwords random and strong to crack. But is it advisable to use this method to make random names for email addresses? That is the concern I have, when a person makes a random email address, they inevitably introduce things with which they can be identified, breaking the previously stated randomness, what ways are there to avoid this?

I don't have any advice, but there is something I can say. Next generation UE, investigate it

There are places like internet archive that preserve things like videos, images, audios, books and programs, but I have not seen any website that preserves only cooking recipes, do you know of any?

Although it has nothing to do with what I'm looking for, I would like to see the comics you mention anyway

At first, I wasn't going to mention snow crash, since it doesn't have much to do with it, but I made the mention to make room for stories that don't have much to do with free software, but have things that can be related to philosophy, an example of this could be right to read, of course, ignoring the author's notes

I am looking for works about free software or based on this philosophy, there are books like "Free software for a free society" and documentaries like "Linux code", but I would like to know what other works there are related to free software and this philosophy, there are things like snow crash, which talks about the decentralization of the internet from a fictional and futuristic story, these types of works are also valid.

I'm looking for alternatives to wii backup manager, what do you recommend?

Something like that I was looking for, not exactly a collection of ISOs, but a live iso that had several tools to make a diagnosis, rescue files, and do a malware analysis. Because there is malware that can hide at system startup. Already a conventional antivirus can make it very difficult to detect it.

Knoppix still exists, but it is not as used as before

[–] manito_manopla@lemmy.ml 3 points 5 months ago

It looks pretty good. I remember another distribution called kaspersky rescue disk, but it was mostly focused on malware analysis and removal, but it seems that it was discontinued

Within the GNU/Linux ecosystem there are all kinds of tools to diagnose the system, or rather, to check the state of the hardware, but there are few distributions specifically designed to perform this task, or at least that I know of, because the only distribution I know that is intended to diagnose the computer, (Or at least one of the components), is memtest86+, so I would like to know what other distributions exist in addition to the one mentioned above

What are the differences between tlp and acpitool?

[–] manito_manopla@lemmy.ml 4 points 5 months ago

Sometimes I forget to connect the charger to the laptop, and it discharges without realizing it. When I used xfce power manager, it warned me when the charger was disconnected, can tlp or acpitool send those types of notifications?

I've been using i3 for a while now, but the xfce power manager doesn't work outside the desktop environment, is there any alternative you can recommend? It doesn't matter if it is a terminal based or graphical interface program, I just need something that can suspend the computer after a certain time or lock it when the laptop is closed

I recommend using qt for the interface, for audio use jack, it is better for music production, if you want to load vst plugins into the program, you can use yabridge

When firefox is not in a maximized window, the resolution of the window is very small, and changing the resolution by hand all the time is annoying, so I want to give it a fixed size. How can I do this?

I am looking for programs to put animated wallpapers on Linux, the ones I know for now are: Xwinwrap, paperview and komorebi. If you know of another program that can do this, leave it in the comments so that others can read it and give their opinion about the program.
