That's why Android apps must be signed. Tools can show an app's certificate hash and if two app versions' hashes match, they're equally trustworthy / from the same source. I think APKMirror does this and it's actually quite trusthworthy.

Can't exactly say the same for Samsung phones though. I used to have their cheaper midrangers and after like 2 years they'd get horrendously slow in day-to-day tasks. I got an older flagship for roughly the same price as a new midranger by them recently and I hope it'll last longer.

I had the same issue when using a touchpad (on Wayland) and when I tried wine-staging-9.0-rc4 it worked without any issues anymore. Both using the wayland and x11 graphics backend.
