it's not the tech companies. Nor does it have anything to do with China or Saudi Arabia. It's partially the fault of the US conservative anti-porn christofacists and SESTA/FOSTA getting passed in 2018. And partially the fault of credit card payment processors deeming adult content "unacceptable" (payment processors have WAY TOO MUCH power and control over what internet content is acceptable or not!)

Just want to shout out and say I really appreciate one of those last lines "If adults want to feel sexy, adults can feel sexy no matter how they look". It is SO REFRESHING to see actual acceptance of human sexual expression rather than the constant hellhole of puritanism that you usually see on the Internet.

pedo-fodder

pedos are attracted to literal prepubescent children. Adults do not look like prepubescent children. (anyway, even IF a pedo was looking at pictures of legal consenting adults. Um...surely that's actually a good thing, right?)

why? it's legal adult content. And honestly...is it not a GOOD THING for people to be looking at legal consenting adults instead of looking at minors (who can't consent) 🤔

There's a few issues with this "report"

Out of approximately 325,000 posts analyzed over a two day period, we detected 112 instances of known CSAM

In the grand scale of things, 112 doesn't sound that bad (compared to say the amount that Facebook has)

The other issue I have is that they seem to equate fictional material as being the same thing as CSAM. They are absolutely not the same thing. CSAM is created by harming/abusing a real, living, human child. Fictional drawings are created harmlessly by harming no one because it's not fucking real. I'm so tired of time and resources being WASTED on harmless fiction when that same time and resources could have been used to help actual goddamn kids.

this is pretty much the only reason I'm still on twitter (I refuse to call it 'X', much like I refuse to call the Sears Tower the 'Willis Tower'). I follow sex workers. Twitter is the only place (social media place) that actually allows sex workers to exist

love to see this kind of response from the instance moderation team! Completely agreed. Just because some people might be uncomfortable with it, consenting adults should be able to do whatever the fuck they want (and, certainly, consenting adults--which is what porn and adult models are--should absolutely not be treated like children, because they simply aren't)

How is that concerning? I think it's a great idea for people that are looking for underage content (don't call it porn, because porn is consensual), to steer them towards legal content instead

edit: fixed autocorrect error. changed 'constant' to 'consensual'
