I think Disney is one of the few platforms that can survive the streaming bubble. The mouse has acquired an obscene number of huge IPs over the last couple of decades - Marvel, Star Wars, The Simpsons... not to mention Disney/Pixar's own output. It also helps that even without streaming they make more money than some countries.

Ironic that one so solid should be named after something so fluid.
I've mostly lurked so far, but I was compelled to create an account after seeing how much responses on assorted lemmy communities remind me of the old phpbb days. Significantly more cordial and well thought out than the average reddit/twitter/what have ye replies. I'm pretty optimistic about the fediverse now that I've experienced it despite initially not thinking much of it; it seems to combine the best elements of web 1.0 and 2.0.
If that was meant to exonerate you, it mostly just made you sound pretty bad. Refusing to finish one of the most remarkable fantasy series since The Lord of the Rings because you can't tolerate the existence of gay or nonbinary people isn't normal behavior. I genuinely hope that you try to work on yourself and sort out this simmering hatred instead of getting upset about humans who are different from you existing.
At some point the ratio of convenience to quality got all out of whack. Most people I know use maybe three different platforms at most and get angered by all of them. My internet experience peaked when I was checking 20 extremely specific forums regularly and using in-game chat 90% of the time (vent/teamspeak were reserved for raid night).
Oof, I hadn't heard about any of that. I'm genuinely surprised that even Disney can't make a sustainable streaming service.
