The epistemic status of that person saying it vs me is not all that different, neither of us have evidence to present

Proton is a government honeypot.

Are you gonna take the chance now that there are allegations against proton?

[โ€“] iiGxC@slrpnk.net 3 points 1 week ago

Yeah, tuta is actually on fdroid (should be the minimum bar for open source software from a company like proton) and has an efficient notification service that doesn't depend on google services at all

Is there any evidence of them being a honeypot? It sounds like that claim was made by someone under trial who might be trying to take the heat off themselves

I think they're trustworthy, but not the best in all those categories - I think tuta is better for mail (no dependence on google services), mullvad is better for vpn (linux app actually works with wireguard, and doesn't have a hard dependence on networkmanager), and keepassxc + syncthing is better for passwords, although to be fair I haven't tried proton pass

animal agriculture is normalized animal abuse, there's tons of amazing vegan cheeses tho!

I have waybar set to be on the right side of my screen, but the wallpaper goes "under" it, such that if I have two windows open, the center of the wallpaper isn't in the center of the gaps between the windows, if that makes sense.

I'd like it so that the center of the wallpaper is in the center of the gaps between two windows. Or in other words, so that the wallpaper goes from the left edge of the screen to the left edge of the bar, so the bar just has a static color bg.

Does anyone know how to do that?

I'm sure there are other groups that do it too, but I've noticed it most often from christian apologists, probably in part case I like listening to debates/discussions with them from atheist youtubers, but I've also noticed it talking to christians myself.

It always feels super weird to me, but that's also coming from someone who feels weird with eye contact and saying other peoples names, so maybe it's just me. Has anybody else noticed it, or are there other people you've noticed that do that? Does it seem weird to you?
