I'm catholic, and to me it's because behaving in a good way will simply make you live better;
the idea is that sin is something that turns you away from God, but being close to God is what makes you truly happy
So even in this life, behaving in a good way would make you live better and happier
Sure, now that I can't have a good app I don't care about reddit either, but if the content is on there people will still find value in it

sure, not everyone would probably put the rainbow flag on the icon of their app. This is true for every choice. Not everyone would pick the font the mlem developers chose, or the color palette of the app, etc. but people can make the choices they want for their app, no?
