It's a grift. They came to steal VC money.

The Soviets tried that and it is the root cause of some of the most serious famines ever seen. Not a good idea. Government, by its nature, is an inefficiency engine. You want the government in the picture as little as possible. This increases that and will cause more inequality not less.

What your suggesting had been done, and it causes a price floor and the formation of a black market 100% of the time. This is not a solution.

So you spend taxes for product at market rate and then depress the price using your money? The government doesn't make anything so it would need to acquire the materials with some kind of cost that will always come from the tax base 100% of the time.

It's not. I believe lowlevellearning has a tutorial on tearing down binaries. If not him, john hammond does for sure. Both are on youtube. That skill set is usually employed in security research since it pays more than reverse engineering old software with problematic licensing and uncertain ownership.

So they have a virus that kills the beetle? Why avoid the term virus?

It is possible, but genetics is far more complicated than this. There are also the epigenetic factors for gene expression that is a field of ongoing research. Nothing is ever actually as simple as the example but it is a good example for illustration of the concept.

You may have missed the point. Even if the haline circulation is over turned with fresh water, Europe will still trend warmer on a wider delta and different places will see an increase in seasonal delta but as it stands there will be a last winter for everywhere. Full stop. It is a time horizon question that remains.

Its complicated day to day but it's not that complicated. We have a giant heat sink in the form of the arctic ocean. Once its ice free I expect freezing temperatures to be rare. There will be a point where this area(north west north america) no longer sees the 80 degree C swings in temperature that it has seen historically. Expectation is closing the temperature gap biased high.
