Were there even any passengers on it at that point

[–] flashgnash@lemm.ee 8 points 3 days ago

Not really, you can unfollow communities you don't like and just not look at all

Nothing you can do about political comments and conversations though, plus if you get rid of all the political stuff that's like 70% of the content gone anyway

I'm not sure I quite understand what you're talking about here, did you mean to post to a specific community?

Also, in general with LLMs there's not much you can do to stop people making their own instance however they want, just make sure you're not allowing other people access to eachother's sessions

So far every job I've had or seen the inside of has used teams

As with all things in business, good enough is king

I actually don't mind it being web based, there are a lot of web based tools that run perfectly fine and don't use that much resource

Teams is generally stable for me running the pwa in Microsoft edge nowadays too

I switched a while ago.

Full office suite works fine on web including teams

I had switched to vscode from visual studio anyway so that wasn't an issue

The only big thing I think is missing now is Photoshop (krita and photopea exist) and games that have intentionally prevented themselves being run in Linux, which is a pretty good reason to vote with your wallet anyway imo

I do kinda miss being able to fuck around in Roblox every now and again but oh well

I've actually found a lot of the smaller foss tools I use are better than their proprietary counterparts because of the design philosophy and that people don't cut as many corners on passion projects as when they're on a deadline

I answer if I see it and I can answer

Fact of the matter is that it will become the norm m because cheap > quality in our system

Honestly not sure it is going to be that many of them at least after an amount of time has passed

Entirely up to people who they want to sleep with and personally would rather not date someone who paints an entire gender with the same brush anyway

There's abstaining and there's not being bothered to vote

If the object is to send the message that the current options aren't good enough at least in the UK we vote for parties other than the main two (green and reform for example)

Good, overpopulation is a problem anyway, people volunteering not to have children seems pretty helpful for that. Same with mgtow

Work have started trying out signal for messaging, but I'd rather not have all my personal contacts and conversations on a machine I don't own

Is there any way I could white/black list certain contacts from one device, or is the only way to manage two separate accounts? (If so, is there an easy/built in way to do that on windows/nixos)

Screenshot is taken from the worst premade ever video WPE absolutely butchering the English language 2023 edition

The game looks pretty cool but I don't recognise it and can't seem to find it with image search, does anyone recognise it?

I have a theory that it should have a very different "personality" (probably more like writing style) depending on language because it's an entirely different set of training data

In English chatGPT is rather academic and has a recognisable style of writing, if you've used it a bit you can usually get hints something was written by it just by reading it.

Does it speak in a similar tone, with similar mannerisms in other languages? (where possible, obviously some things don't translate)

I don't know a second language well enough to have natural conversation so I'm unable to test this myself, and may have worded things awkwardly from a lack of understanding

I've noticed YouTube specifically has become more addictive, I never used to be one to sit and scroll for long durations before but I often catch myself spending way too long on shorts now

Even people or older generations seem to be getting sucked in nowadays

With digital circus coming out recently I realised the 2000s game aesthetic can actually be kinda cool and endearing

It feels like games nowdays are kinda soulless and generic though, glossy and modern (Obviously except for indie games)

Will the 2020s aesthetic be microtransactions and lootboxes?

I have been spoiled for customisation by hyprland recently and have been looking at customizing my phone UI

All the custom launchers I've tried so far are rather lacking in customisability, features and are usually paywalled for "advanced" features like having more than one widget

At the moment I think I'm going to end up back on the default one

I have been experimenting with react native as I heard it's one of the good ones, and so far it is not a particularly enjoyable experience. Lots of irritating things like no global styling, lots of ugly, hard to read properties on tags, etc

In a perfect world where you get to choose, which frontend frameworks would you use and why?

Apologies if this doesn't fit here, not sure where else to post something like this on lemmy

I think having gravity act like weather might be an interesting concept for a fantasy world, where each country has its own gravity patterns, some tend to be heavier some tend to be lighter, some are all over the place

For a few examples, there could be a desert with gravity so high you can get dragged down into the sand

Could be a country with gravity so low everyone uses personal aircraft that work like bicycles instead of land vehicles

Animals in higher gravity areas would have less dense bones, more muscle, etc and lower gravity would have far larger animals because they can support more weight

In a really high gravity area people might need exoskeletons to prevent long term damage

I get that it's open source provided you use codium not code but I still find that interesting

Just occurred to me that there might not be one

Saiyan saga has kaioken which isn't technically a form but may as well be Frieza saga has super Saiyan, cell saga has super Saiyan grades and super Saiyan 2, buu has super Saiyan 3, bog has god, then blue, blue evolved and ui

Am I missing one?

I bought a cheapo capture card a while back but the quality is pretty terrible

Is there any reason PCs can't just receive HDMI/displayport input from other devices through the same mechanism they output it?

For that matter also is there any reason HDMI can't be run over Ethernet? Afaik ethernet has far more bandwitth than hdmi nowadays

Seems people frequently talk about negative experiences of them then end up banned shortly after

Also seems like people are weirdly quick to jump to their defense for the internet
