Did you just promote Trump by including his name in your comment?

Well I should say less the headlines and more the number of people spreading this and/or believing it. Look at this thread—there are like no top comments that reflect on the inaccuracy of the headline. no one read the article or clicked the link, it seems worse than Reddit here. It’s embarrassing and disappointing. It makes it easy for the right to say, ‘see how gullible the left is & how easily they’re swayed by media?’ Anyway I’m not trying to start a flame war, I think I’m just starting to feel more stress about the upcoming election.

Before you share this with your trump-loving family like I almost did, he didn’t promote it, he ‘retweeted’ someone who linked the article saying among other things: “The American people want the economy Trump created…” Shitty journalism and click-bait headlines like this is why republicans look down on us and why people start wondering if they’re on the right side.

Here’s my experience using Linux for 3 yrs now. I was excited enough to try a new OS that I learned how to install a new operating system on a new laptop I bought. I never could get rid of a drivers alert on every start up, even though I knew there was nothing wrong there. Googling the problem, the top 5 results were 5 completely different solutions. Whatever it’s a small problem so I ignored it. Months later my sound started screwing up, like distortions. (Ok, so maybe there is something wrong with my drivers.) But could never figure it out and could resolve the sound problem momentarily with a restart. With the sound issue happening more frequently, I thought I should get a new laptop, this time built with Linux pre installed by a company that knows what they’re doing. I bought a $1200 laptop from System 76, with specs that I could easily pay $500 less for. I don’t understand why the volume buttons don’t work out of the box and the auto update of snap packages has been ridiculously frustrating cause all my firefox tabs close and seem to be lost. Again, googling the issue gets a dozen different solutions and I don’t know what route to take. I only need an internet browser & word processor, ffs. I feel too stupid for Linux. I don’t even have kids or much of a time sucking job and I feel like learning this OS is too time-consuming. I’m probably getting a Mac for my next laptop and wish I didn’t feel like I have to.

How do we know which links would have this? What is the connection Amazon has to an article? I’m confused, I thought this meant only if you are sharing a link from a social media site.

It’s that combined with the likelihood for this to turn into WWIII due to the complex web of nation alliances involved in this conflict. Also, many major religions believe the end of the world is tied to this situation.

As I stated in a previous post, I am using AdGuard on safari. And since I’ve basically given up on privacy, I also use Brave at times.

Thanks I didn’t know about that one and I thought I went through all the alternatives. Currently I’m primarily watching YouTube vids through invidious in safari but will use brave when I watch my saved playlists.

Thanks I didn’t know you could do this with pi-hole. I’m currently testing out AdGuard but it seems you have to turn it on every time you open a new yt vid

I chose an iPhone because I didn’t want to use googles play store. Now I know there are options around that but most users (including myself at least for now) are not willing to learn how to do that and set it up.

Firefox focus doesn’t seem to save open windows, it’s a purely incognito browser. & you can only have one page open at a time.
