Same.

  • Mac - Fast, user friendly, and UNIX based.
  • Windows - Fast (I have a beast), bloated, stupid command prompt (“Add-Migration”, capital letters really.), wants to spy on me.
  • Linux - Fast, a lot of work to get everything working as you would on Windows or Mac and I’m past those days, I just want to turn the thing on and play Factorio or Minecraft, not figure out if my 4080 will run on it etc.

it’s almost like people make choices to suit their needs and there isn’t a single solution for everybody.

I wonder what the industry standard is for developers? Genuinely. I’ve heard it’s Max, but my company is all in on Microsoft, not really heard of companies developing on Linux. Which isn’t to say Linux doesn’t have its place, but I’m aware this place is insanely biased towards Linux.

We use windows PCs at work as software engineers now, but when I was training I used a MacBook Pro M1 with 16GB of RAM and that thing was incredibly performant.

I know it in vogue to shit in Apple, but they build the hardware and the software and they’re incredibly efficient at what they do and I don’t think I ever saw the beachball loading icon thing.

Now the prices they charge to upgrade the RAM is something I can get behind shitting on.

You speak for an entire demographic. How do you get that role?

To each their own I guess, I prefer to just abstain from mockery as I don’t see how it changes anything.

That said I respect your right to write what you want and hope you have a nice rest of your day. 😊

I would argue getting mad over something so trivial as sad.

The genocide being committed in Palestine is something that makes me mad.

The fact that we are happy for our largest companies to outsource work to poorer countries makes me mad.

The fact that corporations seemingly control the world and don’t pay their fair share makes me mad.

Apple making a MacMini with a button on the bottom is irrelevant to me, in the grand scheme of things it’s not even an issue.

I mean we do let humans drive cars and some of them are as dumb as bricks and some are malicious little freaks.

Not saying we are anywhere FSD and Elon is a clown, but I would support a future with this technology if we ever got there. The issue is we would have to be all or nothing. Like you can’t have a mix of robots and people driving around.

Here we go again making mountains out of mole hills for Apple.

I am all for calling out Apple for their treatment of workers in ASIA, or their wealth, heck even the closed garden, but this… nah fam I don’t care where the button is.

No no it’s PDF file (I know the second file is redundant but that is the trend on YouTube to not get demonetised).

Edit: I got curious and it turns out the file isn’t redundant as the F is for format. Portable Document Format. TIL

I know it’s irrational but at this point if I bought premium I would feel like I’ve been bullied into it.

It would feel less sour if they didn’t lock other features like background play into premium, for me that’s too much of a dark pattern to support.

Erm… normal I guess. I don’t know what it would feel like with children.

What I do know is I would be a terrible parent, I only got my shit together in my late thirties and I wouldn’t have been a good parent, so it’s good for the kids that I didn’t have any.
