They don’t seem to care, but they collect data. So they don’t seem to care NOW. Always use a non-logging VPN.

I have two Raspberry Pi (4 / 2) and I use them to selfhost:

  • AdguardHome (two instances)
  • HomeAssistant
  • NextCloud
  • Forgejo
  • VaultWarden
  • NTP server

Those are all as Docker services so I can easily switch to new devices in case I need to. All of them work like a charm.

How did they track it? Does Teams/Slack have a special way to report that?

After reading his message I blocked Reddit at DNS level. I wasn’t planning to leave it completely before, but now I’m not planning to unblock it till when u/spez will be there.

I have Plex Pass and I use Plexamp. The app is very nice. The download sometimes is flaky but I personally didn’t have issues with it much.

They want to push everyone on their apps because they collect a ton of metrics that they can easily resell. Metrics are way harder to collect on browsers in a consistent fashion.
