Actually, mormons think they are very logical. I've seen many instances of people talking about how Brandon Sanderson being Mormon is why he's so thorough at world building.
Erlang VM is supposed to be used for applications that need high reliability (it was developed for the telecom industry). A common idiom in Erlang applications is running many instances of a process and letting it crash when facing an unrecoverable error. After it crashes, it restarts, hence the meme.

Yeah, I was thinking more along the lines of how Sam Altman, in his now capacity as a researcher for Microsoft will probably not produce anything half as innovative as NeXT (even if just for the fact that their computers were used to make Doom)
