Erm I might be showing my inexperience here.

Is there no equivalent to man LOAD in the commodore world? Or even just help?

That's the ticket, IMO. I start off assuming they know, then pause to ask "are you familiar with x concept?"

If they say yes and they really mean no, there's really not a lot I can do. But it seems to make people feel at ease when talking to me - I don't get called out for over explaining or infantalizing people this way.

You've still gotta be good at prompt engineering to make great AI art.

Like you said - it's a tool which requires nuanced skill like any other art. It just happens to lower the barrier to entry a pretty significant amount

How's this title look?

Does UPS actually have your package? Or is it just a label for now?

Just got a Google email saying my order has shipped via FedEx from Carol Stream IL.

Ordered a P8Pro 256gb and Watch 2 LTE both in Bay Blue, with expedited shipping. I ordered genuinely one or two minutes after the page went up, so you can bet I'm excited as hell!

Edit: FedEx has my package with an ETA of tomorrow, October 11! Currently estimated one day early!

I'm not sure what I've done differently, but my under screen reader on my 6 pro is more reliable than the back reader on my pixel 3.

Obviously my one data point doesn't negate the vast swathes of people who do have issues, but for me I may not even elect to use face unlock. Seems unnecessarily insecure.

I plan to buy two.

I've ordered (and received) the caseology parallax in bay blue for when I need super rugged protection. I also plan to order the Google branded bay blue case for when I don't, once I get my Google store credit.

I'm frustrated that my preferred cases (Spigen rugged armor and liquid air) only come in boring, dark colors. Why can't I have a Rugged Armor in Bay Blue? I've gotta put up with the noticeable extra bulk of the caseology parallax?

Sorry! My messaging was off - not intending this to be an LTT dish fest.

While this specs sheet does imply an unchanged sensor, both LTT's video and XDA's article linked in this comment below suggest a new (or at least updated) sensor, rather than just a lens change.

Just trying to start conversation about what seems to be still an unclear detail. Didn't mean to start a flame war!

Sorry! My messaging was off here. I'm not intending to dish on LTT here, but actually infer that the new Pixels may actually get the long-rumored Samsung GN2 camera sensor, despite recent leaks claiming otherwise.

See my comment here for corroborating evidence: https://lemmy.world/comment/4158522

Sorry - I'm trying to corroborate this story with another article from XDA, below, which both state the Pixel 8 will get a new, different camera sensor. This would be a departure from recent leaks which claim an unchanged primary wide sensor (i.e. many people are complaining about the Samsung GN1 sensor).

https://www.xda-developers.com/google-pixel-8-8-pro-hands-on/

My apologies for making a little dig at LTT's expense. I was trying to convey that I'm actually more convinced this information is true, since I'm sure Linus and his team are laser focused on accuracy of information right now.

Take a look around 1:35. Would be very awkward for Linus himself to get this factoid wrong after all the hubbub about rushed projects.

In statistics, everything is based off probability / likelihood - even binary yes or no decisions. For example, you might say "this predictive algorithm must be at least 95% statistically confident of an answer, else you default to unknown or another safe answer".

What this likely means is only 26% of the answers were confident enough to say "yes" (because falsely accusing somebody of cheating is much worse than giving the benefit of the doubt) and were correct.

There is likely a large portion of answers which could have been predicted correctly if the company was willing to chance more false positives (potentially getting studings mistakenly expelled).
