I honestly don't think he really had any opsec apart from those few applications, look at what tools he was using, what a joke. Fake calculator app to store files are great to protect from your parents, not the FBI.
He was clearly using Android and I bet he was using the stock rom, kyc sim card, and not even a vpn behind tor.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy and relieved he was caught, but if he had done serious research and did a better opsec, it wouldn’t have been so easy for the authorities to get him
It is also because of people like him that laws like Going Dark become plausible to the eyes of the politicians and the masses

oh, sorry I didn’t know the /s meant it was sarcasm, I look like an idiot now, my bad
it’s always not the real communism, each time you try it ends in mass murder but it’s never "the real communism", maybe you should reconsider your position and admit that your beliefs always end in totalitarian, oppressive, authoritarian governments.
lack of education, food, medical facilities, freedom, get the fuck out of your bedroom and go to a communist country, you have plenty to choose from, Cuba, Russia, Venezuela, North Korea, go to these places and you will see what is your real communism
I strongly agree, the only real difference between nazism and communism nowadays is the name you call it. after all, even North Korea is a communist nation
I think it’s okay, if he uses this account for government related stuff, banking, insurance, work and so on, he already lost all privacy because of them, so why should he bother with a private email for those things
I agree with the backdoor risks, that’s why I don’t recommend it for safe communication, I know that Telegram is partially open source now, but I can’t remember if it applies to the encryption
Yes I do use a VPN, 24h 7/7, changing server everyday. regarding their data collection, it’s about the same as WhatsApp for exemple, the difference is in which government will they comply with, if you are american for example, you better have your data in russia with Telegram
Yes they have your phone number but you can easily rent an anonymous number to use services that require it, and even then, if you do not plan to become a gun dealer, you just set a username and hide your phone number everything will be okay (again, for the social media use case)
Telegram is more a social media than a messenger app, group chats and channels can’t be encrypted but 1 to 1 chats can be
I’ve been in channels and group chats about Ukraine since 2014 (unencrypted as I said) and nothing serious ever happened,
no censorship, no ban (from Telegram I mean), russian trolls raids from time to time but easily contained
I wouldn’t use Telegram for day to day communication but to stay informed about what matters to you without big risks of censorship it’s great
Si si, elle l’était, se voir suspendu sans salaire par refus de s’injecter une substance, peu importe laquelle, est effectivement une violation de la constitution dans énormément de pays dont la France. Nos corps nos choix.
