Both. It's complicated. Wild mix of my trusty X52 Pro, my own virtual joystick written in Rust and AntiMicroX and/or Moltengamepad.

Think you have to configure the sticks on Windows. Don't think Wine can do this. That's hearsay though so YMMV. Mine are software anyway or just work™.

TrackIR API works. I demo this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7n4hwABJFU (it's also on PeerTube but our instance is bust atm)

TrackIR hardware does not. That's a blackbox since v5. Tobii hardware does AFAIK not work but this may change any day. Some people started hacking at this again and again.

Also do check out the StarCitizen LUG and the helper scripts: https://github.com/starcitizen-lug/lug-helper

This. It's basically only a thing for rotary encoder, where interrupts should be used for the reading, so they don't miss a beat.

Also: Combining several joystick devices on the PC again is a pain in the neck especially if the game only supports one device of each kind.

Haha yeah, it's amazing what you can get when throwing lots of money at something. Or not. 🙃 I just love highly individual simpits and the creativity involved.

I played “The Expanse” (on Linux PC) and I enjoyed it so much that I didn’t put the controller down for over 6 hours (https://beko.famkos.net/x/1CMPu)

I love it! ❤️

Laughable selling this as "Improving gamer experience" breaking another existing standard.

Saying this especially from the DIY angle where custom controllers are kinda the thing.

Also lol because "competitive" gameplay. Gear always wins the day - just like in meat space.

Ah well, one good thing may come from this: Plenty of cheaper second hand controllers that I may buy as replacements to connect to my Steam Link. This one isn't too picky when it comes to controllers. My current mix on that is a Steam Controller, a Wii-U controller and some no-name "works-on-all" wireless controller.

Doing this in reverse all the time. Stretching games on my triple head setup to full size. It's the same principle. If the game doesn't offer it kill it with gamescope, Wine virtual desktop or if nothing helps a completely virtual display that overlays your current:

For some editing the config files directly works wonders. Looking at you Unity!

I want to see you play “Simon says” on this thing.

I'm not even surprised: https://wokwi.com/projects/328451800839488084

So yeah… I could 🤓 Would have to adapt this for my Mega but that's details…

I know of http://www.novaimages.de/bridgesim/#media_images

There's also Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator and I know at lease one guy who plays and works on a Empty Epsilon bridge.

For SC there is this madman in Florida (chrchr): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1w6eAHwfFo
