A huge portion of the west thinks that living a good life is just buying things.

Shanghai is one of the most commercial cities in the world though, to be fair. There's literally a high-end mall built around the the site of the first congress of the CPC.

Same, I feel pretty good in myself personally.

I'm still aware enough to realize that there are real issues in the world and society. Sleep and exercise can't fix those.

The USSR wasn't a paradise (communism isn't magic) but it was better than anything in Russia before or since. It's not like turning to capitalism in the 90s made the country a utopia.

At least WeChat is firmly under the state's thumb. It's basically a public service at this point. They should just nationalize it.
