Degoogled Pixel 4a that I bought to replace my broken Pixel 4a. I'm gonna use this thing until it dies and then maybe buy another one. I'm not sure when another phone this hold-able, reasonably powerful enough, and good LineageOS support will get released.

I've learned a lot more over time, especially recently. I never had a eureka moment though. Everyone deserves to live in peace and with basic human rights. I'll always advocate for that. Specifically this conflict though is between a Democratic state who has done fucked up shit and a genocidal fundmentalist terrorist group. There is still a clearly much less bad side here.

I'm definitely skeptical of anything "moderate" that they claim to now operate on. Their actions, especially on October 7th illustrated what their actual ideology is. They even still have foreign workers who are entirely uninvolved hostage.
Have you looked into Solus at all? They are rolling and build with a focus on desktop usage.
Nextcloud should be good for that. There are a bunch of services which offer a few GB for free, which should be enough for your needs.
If you just want contacts, there are a bunch of free Nextcloud services.
They both have the same signing keys. The F-Droid repo uses the F-Droid signing keys unless the build is reproducible.
