If the third party is actually able to represent the people better than one of the current two why can't it be switched to it? It could start with local elections to then state level candidates, it wouldn't be a switch out of the blue, most people wouldn't even know it exists the first few elections (hell, just the amount of people googling if Biden had dropped out of the race on the day of elections shows how uninformed people can be) but the current state of the democratic party can't stay, it either gets kicked out or it adapts because of competition

I wonder why Bernie and other progressives don't band together and announce their own party. With enough big names (especially Bernie) they could gather enough attention to be a viable third party that actually represents progressive and more left leaning ideas than the democrats. They have two years until the next local elections to get their foot on the race, I think they could get done traction if they actually go for that

Doomsidee has sent me a video in which they are obviously molesting a child, I won't share it but they def did it and you should believe me 100%!!

I'll repeat my stance towards trump in a more clear language so you understand: I want trump in jail for his crimes, including his sexual crimes.

The issue here is that we need actual evidence, proof that he did that crime to be able to accuse him, or else this same comment is proof enough that you are a rapist, and we don't want that, what we want is trump in jail, not to give him or others like him the power to put anyone they want in jail. Do you remember what the right wingers keep shouting about trans people, immigrants and everyone else they disagree with? If we do what you want with trump what is stopping them from being able to do the same with us?

I'll say once more to try and get it though you, I want trump in jail for his many many maaaaaaaaany crimes INCLUDING AND ESPECIALLY for his sexual crimes, but we need to do it following the law, which needs actual proof, not just hearsay.

You didn't seem to understand that workout proof we can't accuse trump, even tho he is a horrible piece of shit that deserves to rot in jail. As much as I'd love to see him get arrested and imprisoned, we cannot simply take someone's word that someone else did those horrible things, otherwise trump would have already made all of his enemies go to jail with his stupid bullshit accusations. I also think that trump very very likely did those things, but for the justice system we need proof, and someone saying that someone else did something isn't proof, it's hearsay and not taken as evidence by law

He took the authorization for a bunch of Russians from being able to keep working on the Linux stuff. I'm def not remembering everything and I'd suggest you searching any news about it, it's an interesting read

R is wanting to come directly for the Americans as soon as trump becomes president while D is still wondering how to distance themselves enough from the current genocide to just keep profiting from the far away war.

Are both options not good? Yes, but one is CLEARLY much much much worse than the other (it's the R one, if it isn't clear enough). With D you can at least talk and slow down the horrible shit which gives you time to work with third party politicians to actually improve stuff, while with R they will just add you to their hit list and you'll get screwed a million times over. Under a D government you can actually work on improving shit and getting third party candidates in, under a R government you'll be lucky if you can still vote for the next election

Not even close to enough but at least it's a start!!

And it's also making the horrible people move away, making it more difficult for them to make their shitty ideas into games? It's a win win!!

I actually use it to open the start menu for a few reasons. Usually I do it to the press tab and the down arrow 5 times then enter twice, why? Because that puts your selector thingy on the sleep option as my keyboard doesn't have a sleep key. The other reason is I can just start typing some program's name and launch it without using my mouse. I don't do it all the time since most programs I need to use the mouse to keep using anyway, but sometimes I just want a calculator or notepad++ and the search function works well enough for those

California is a huge state, there are cheaper areas to live in, and new York isn't in that much of a risk of suddenly prosecuting queer people, even in a trump government. California is safer, yes, but New York isn't the boonies of Florida or Texas. If you don't mind, what are you afraid of in new york that you think you'll be safer in Israel of all places?

[–] argarath@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (3 children)

That's why I suggested going to California first, there you can have enough time to get yourself a citizenship for a country that is actually better for you

Thank you! I read that it takes time and is full of layer stuff, but I just didn't know how true the things I've read up were (I've read one person say it took them 7 months from getting married to getting their green card just as an example of how those websites all you their guides for getting a green card)
