the dude that made the video is white, that's a very bad thing
the list instance being full of hate is just a symptom of allowing right-wingers to host their own platform, moderating joinpeertube.org is only a bandage fix
unfortunately there is only two ways of truly fixing this problem:

don't make the software free (free as preached by the fsf) by using an ethical license

take away the rights of these "people" (would required heavy government intervention so there isn't much you can do for now)
automod is one of the best ways to prevent right-wingers from using your platform, even requiring you to include "trans rights are human rights" can filter 99% of rightoids
it's a very good indicator of privilege. skin color is just one indicator i use tho, race is much deeper than that
