The multi-platform frameworks (dart-flutter, react-native, etc), are they effective? To what extent? in c/android@lemmy.world

I absolutely agree with this. I've used the former and the experience is exactly the same. Neither Flutter nor React Native support any remotely complex features from individual platforms. Breaking layouts and abysmal memory usage is a cherry on top.

Here's a temporary workaround for anyone wanting to continue using RIF or any other third-party Reddit clients. I say temporary because Reddit could break the functionality at any given moment.
