What a trip down memory lane. I loved watching Freakazoid on WBkids. The theme song was dope.

Loved the graphic novel and had a blast watching Nimona, last night.

My only nitpick was that I wished there was more world building. I wanted to know more about the townsfolk: it was hinted there was a divide between them and the knights (I guess they were the nobility ?), the town itself and if there were actually any other “monsters” out beyond the wall. I guess I wish it was a series rather than a movie.

Since it was a movie and not a series, totally forgivable. One of the best animated movies this year for me. Disney really dropped the ball for not picking up this project, could have been a slam dunk for them. Oh well.

I currently use Seren addon on kodi with real debrid. Works like a charm for movies and tv shows.

I also use the Otaku addon on kodi with real-debrid and Kitsu ( to help keep track of the anime I’m watching and want to watch). This is the best addon for anime on kodi that has worked for me.

With these two addons + real debrid, I feel like I got all my bases covered for entertainment.

Hope this helps.

I recommend checking out any of the Boox ereaders, if you’re looking for an ereader android tablet.

I currently use the Boox Nova Air and I love it, to bits! It has a 7.8in screen, that has warm and cool backlighting. It comes with a stylus, so you can take notes, do some journaling or even draw. I use my Nova air, primarily, to read manga on Tachiyomi app.

There is preinstalled app called BOOXDrop that allows you to select files from your computer or phone and send it to your ereader. I’ve used it a few times to put some ebooks in there, it wasn’t too bad.

Since Boox devices are android, you can pretty much download any app on google play store or you can side load any apks.

The apps I have installed on my device are: Tachiyomi, kindle, Libby, GDrive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Pocket, Foxit PDF reader and Firefox. I use to have Apollo app on there, but not anymore.

I also love that I can put any image as my screensaver, so it’s pretty cool to see wallpapers or screenshots from my favorite manga scenes on there when my device is on sleep mode.

There are newer Boox ereader devices that do color. Would be great for comics, magazines and textbooks. I personally haven’t tried them out yet but I’d love to get one, one day.

If you’re looking for something more basic and intuitive to use, I also recommend the kindle, 11th generation (2022). It’s small, 6in and very light. I still use mine often when reading my kindle collection. I just love how pocketable it is.

Hi, this is my first time too, posting anything on Lemmy.

I just made an account last night since Apollo app is going offline. RIP Apollo.

Sooo, this probably isn’t going to answer your question since you’re looking for a colored screen to read comics …..buuuut, if you or anyone else was interested in getting a device to read manga….then I do have a pretty good suggestion. I currently use the Boox Nova Air for reading manga.

Boox Nova Air is e-reader android tablet, so it’s sorta like a kindle but way more powerful than that. It has 7.8" HD E-ink Carta Screen, so it’s not too big, not to small. This device is only in black and white, no color… so perfect for manga. And because it’s an android tablet, I can pretty much download whatever from the google play store app or side load any apks. It came with a stylus so I can write notes on here too or draw.

I currently use the Tachiyomi app to read manga and I love it. I’ve definitely been reading a lot more manga since I purchased this device, last year. I also use pocket and the Firefox browser to catch up on news articles on the web.

There is a new Boox Tab Mini C, which is a ereader android tablet that does support color. So maybe this one could suit your needs for reading comics, if you wanted an ereader experience. It’s also a 7.8in display and comes with a stylus.

I hope this helps your search and anyone else who happens to read this comment.

Happy reading!
