Mbin is so cool, it's what I'm using.

Agree with the article, same idea. Despite the opinions each one of us may have regardless #nostr and #bluesky, they have cool ideas we could borrow.
I haven't developed anything with #ActivityPub, but have read a little bit of the spec. I would love to hear the take from developers making use of it.

No, I kept going back to this one, but thankfully someone (@drcouzelis@lemmy.zip) found it. Thanks nevertheless.
Thank you so much!
Yeah, it sucks. But I think that at a certain point it will need to happen if we want to make ActivityPub better with better portability.
I think there's a FEP that could (or fixes) this. To my understanding ID can be any URI, so there are better ways. I guess it's hard because it would brake a lot of stuff or how mastodon is build.
For a second I thought the ActivityPub specification got updated.
Literally one of the reason for the existence of this thread.
That is a fair point, and I don't have the answer. Maybe use technics that @peertube@framapiaf.org uses like torrenting (or another way of decentralized storage), I guess you could use a cdn/object bucket?
