I wonder if Putin's plan to ban talking about childless lifestyle and saying this will work? Russias are not as traditional as people make it out to be, especially those in the cities. He will just rile up many folks.

I'd cheer on if Elon Musk becomes a pauper. $9 billion is still worth a lot. It's still, as the article says, billions.

Actually, Battle Royale is more like a dark comedy. The acting during violent and action scenes is way too wacky. People get shot and killed but overreact. One could argue that the movie is a satire because of its social commentary. Maybe the death scenes are wacky so that it is easily more palatable to address some of the more serious undertones about the relationship between adults and adolescents.

Didn't this happen before Costa Rica abolished their army though?

The notion of a "promised land" is a lie humans tell to themselves to monopolise the resources we all share with all living things.

People just report whatever they disagree with, I guess.

I have to say, I have a huge respect for ProPublica. They are one of the few credible journalists left who writes in-depth (although too in-depth, because they write too flowery).

Adele isn't that good looking as well, but she is well loved as a singer.

giving in to populist demands that are of little use to livestock farmers,’’

Why am I not surprised. There was definitely pressure from farmers, and they can be powerful political lobby groups.

It's interesting to hear the pov of an Australian. From the outsider's perspective, I think you love rules given Australia's outside reputation as a nanny state.

I think I read somewhere that in order for the Romans to abnegate their role in killing Jesus, as they transitioned to Christianity, they scapegoated the Jews. Although, it was the people who demanded to crucify Jesus. But of course, anti-semites focused on the ethnicity, instead just ascribing the mob justice to just-- on people.

My guess is that because Jews reject the divinity of Jesus, the Christians found it fair to oppress the Jews. It is not different though to the crusading missions of later Christians in the medieval Europe. The non-Christians refuse to recognise Jesus Christ as both the son of God and god himself, the either they convert, or else be killed or ostracised.

And unfortunately lemmy.ml is getting more online traffic recently.

I saw plenty of kintsugi kits available in my area (to those who do not know what kintsugi is, it is the art of fixing broken ceramic/pottery items using lacquer). However, I do not know if the quality is good for the price presented by these shops. Could anyone knowledgeable or experienced in kintsugi give some tips? I'd appreciate any help and thank you in advance.

Ignoring the lack of updates if the game is buggy, games back then were also more focused on quality and make gamers replay the game with unlockable features based on skills, not money. I can't count the number of times I played Metal Gear Solid games over and over to unlock new features playing the hardest difficulty and with handicap features, and also to find Easter eggs. Speaking of Easter eggs, you'd lose a number of hours exploring every nook and cranny finding them!

I was watching a video on Willem Dafoe on his iconic roles, and his passion to craft and life, and positivity, exudes from him immensely. In that video, I am surprised he remembers from which of his movies the lines came from. It made me love him more as an actor because he loves life and his job.

But then during the interview, I remembered too when I watched Kevin Spacey's interview before, admiring him and it turned out he is a creep. I was telling to myself about Willem Dafoe "please don't be a creep, please don't be a creep."

Willem seems like a genuinely nice guy though but I hope I don't get proven wrong!

Edit: clarified the title
