Literally, you're right - in Latin it means "not following". But in conventional usage, non-sequitur is more for things that are so completely out of place for the conversation.

Not a non-sequitur: "Okay, so based on this finding, [insert something topical but wrong]".

Non-sequitur: "Okay, so that's great, but Michigan beating Ohio State means this is irrelevant".

Would you mind elaborating on this? I just recently have been struggling with massive burnout at my job, amplified by being stuck on the same project by myself for 1 year+, team being understaffed, and inconsistent expectations from stakeholders.

When there's a lot more traffic to this community (... it feels really weird not talking about subreddits), I think there's merit to tagging being the bare minimum here. But we are a long way from that, so I think whatever ends up drawing people here and starting conversations is a good thing.
