It's not a good idea because at the end of the day even if you're not interested in politics, politics is definitely interested in you. Thse people are just burying their head in the sand and ignoring the real world.

It's not that uncommon for people to block all that stuff out for personal reasons. Lemmy itself has some users that intentionally filter out all political stuff from their feed. I don't agree with it, but there's a lot of people like that.

Are you asking if policy changes should be made while taking into account the experiences/struggles of its citizens? If so, then yes. It definitely should be.

The Supreme Court ruling doesn't apply here since we already established we were talking about the distribution of misinformation.

Your list of censored opinions is ridiculous given they're openly accessible, not to mention the fact that they don't help your case at al.

The first link is from a publicly funded institution, so not censored, and the study corroborates that the benefits outweigh the cons for vaccines:

There is a broad consensus that the benefits of vaccination greatly outweigh the potential risks of rare vaccine side effects, such as vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT). Therefore, the importance of vaccination should be emphasized. This statement aims to focus on VITT.

Second bullet point is a frivolous lawsuit that never went anywhere.

Third bullet point is inconclusive and said more studies is needed. Furthermore, it's not COVID specific.

Same with the fourth bullet point.

So far, you've given me complete bullshit to support some stupid and incorrect claim that vaccine and mask mandates are fascist and then tried to actually justify their ineffectiveness using sources that don't even support your claims and sometimes even contradicts it.

I am not going to bother responding to you anymore. It's clear you'd rather perpetrate misinformation than actually look at the evidence in front of your eyes. I only made this last comment to make sure anyone reading this how much misinformation you've been producing.

That 0.639% of the population actually has a lot of them in a critical swing state that helped Biden win 2020. Harris lost Michigan by less than 85K votes, they could have made the difference.

Not "if the government says it's false" if it is false. Why are you accepting being lied to?

You're conflating information with misinformation. The quotes say misinformation, not information.

Don't cherrypick quotes. What does the next 2 paragraph say?

You're sources don't support the censorship of information. Just calling out supposed "vaccine hesitancy" and saying to stop it due to its impact on the public health. And yes temporary measure to wear masks and isolate is perfectly acceptable given the circumstances.

I would suggest you actually lookup examples of fascism and compare it to what yoy see today. Try send connect the dots.

I'm not happy about this outcome either, it's an incredibly shitty day for any progressive in any country. But the end result is simple. Less people felt compelled to vote for Harris here than they did for Biden in 2020. It's not about a "everything or nothing" mentality, it's about delivering a message that makes people want to go out of their way to vote for her. She alienated a lot of people by doing stupid shit like campaigning with people like Liz Cheney, saying she'll have Republicans in her cabinet, supporting Israel, being tougher on border policies, supporting fracking, etc. They banked on having more Republicans vote for them than progressives being disenfranchised. Harris isn't much of a progressive, especially on the world stage. She just looked to be a progressive when comparing her to Trump.

There's no doubt there were other things like misinformation campaigns and such. But they knew about this for a long time and should have prepped for it better.

Her platform and campaigning wasn't good enough. It's the unfortunate truth and people need to accept it. Trump got less votes than 2020, and he still won. Because Harris didn't inspire enough people to vote. She tried to work with the "progressive" Republicans and get their vote. Like I said above "Better than Trump" is not something that incentivizes people to vote for.
